This is a very nice carrier with a top and side door. The top door is not a moon roof. I like the top door--a lot-- because once I catch one of the little monst—I mean cats, I don’t want to have to shove it in the door. I love the drop-a-cat door. It cuts down on my injuries by 90%. The little bugg—, I mean cat, only got me once instead of leaving a full set of scratch marks on my hands and arms.
Complimenting the robust aluminum build is a door that is made of solid steel bars that have been welded to a high standard. This package of strength is sure to keep your escape artist pooch secure. The doors are connected to the body by a full-length striker plate and piano hinge. For extra security, each door features a flush-mounted slap latch allowing for a solid close.
So I pet sit and crates are a must for those who aren't potty trained so I have a crate in every size and shape. My last 48 broke from wear and tear so I got this one and the price is good but the cage is sort of flimsy. This wouldn't be a brand I'd recommend for anxious dogs or those who try to escape. I have many metal crates and some are stronger than others but I think this one is one of the weaker ones. Still serves its purpose for the calmer dogs who won't paw at it.
Experiment with different crate placements. Sometimes, you can reduce your dog’s desire to escape from his kennel by placing it in a different location. You may find, for example, that by placing him within view of a window, he stops trying to escape as much. You may also find that the opposite – eliminating his view of squirrels and pedestrians – may calm him down more.

Overview: This extra large dog crate is made by the same company as the one before this. It contains a double door (making it different from the last crate) and its dimensions are 48” x 30” x 33,” making it appropriate for dogs up to 90 pounds. There is a dividing panel, making for easy housebreaking, and it folds down and is collapsible for portable storage.

Most Helpful review (read the full Amazon review): “It sure is a good thing I checked amazon.com for dog creates before spending almost twice as much at a major pet store! This crate is perfect in every way. It's very well made and the price can't be beat. The bottom plastic tray can be easily removed for cleaning and the crate collapses very easily. It's pretty easy to open and close with the double sliding locking mechanism…“
This crate is a piece of junk -- literally. We bought it for our very calm and docile Irish Setter. In less than two hours, he had completely destroyed the gate and had the cheap bars pointing in every direction and was at the door to the garage to greet us. The spot welds were worthless as it came apart very easily. When I contacted the seller about the crate, they responded that they were sorry about problems with the "table" and would replace it if I paid to send it back! I wrote back that it was an inferior product, why would I want another one and that I expected a full refund and a return label. I even included pictures of the gate. Now they tell me that they won't take it back because it has been damaged?? HELLO! Why do you think I am returning it. I would not buy a single thing from this vendor -- RUN don't walk away from all their products!! I intend to call amazon directly about this vendor! In less than 2 hours it was destroyed!!
Most models come with wheels – they are mandatory. Some models don’t, and we advise you to avoid them as moving them around is a real hassle, especially if you travel often. Crates with wheels will allow you to easily transport your pooch no matter the circumstances. For the less portable solution, you might as well go with an outdoor kennel or a good quality playpen.
Most Helpful review (read the full Amazon review): “I needed to know how much this weighed and one listing stated it was 48.8 Lbs I'm not very trusting of website descriptions so I weighed myself and then held the kennel (not easy) and the difference was 43.7. Also to make this airline approved you need to buy metal nuts for the bolts instead of the plastic ones that come with it. You might also need to drill holes in the rear. This is plenty big for my 95 Lb lab mix. He fit in an XL but…“

Overview: This uniquely designed dog kennel looks like a tiny hut and is designed for outdoor use and protecting your dog from the elements. Its dimensions are huge; five feet long by five feet wide by five feet high. The roof on top of the “hut” is a weather-resistant cover made of polyurethane. The Gazebo doesn’t require tools to set it up, and the access window that is secure and safe to lock and latch.
Pros: This crate worked especially well for owners frustrated of their pets chewing through cages constantly. The crate also doesn’t rattle or shake easily and the tray is simple to remove at the bottom (no struggling). The ease of assembly and disassembly make it an attractive seller for busy owners who don’t have time to read through a 100 page manual on how to put it together.
The best dog kennels should serve multiple purposes for you and your dog. They should be durable and also easy to assemble and to disassemble when on the go, see our dog carriers for options like this. Some owners had a difficult time with the assembly instructions, claiming they needed to be clearer. This crate is also so big that the only way to really move it is to disassemble the entire unit, so not great for those who want a crate they can easily relocate. And as always, there were a few dogs who managed to make quick work of the crate, although this was relatively uncommon.

This is the cutest crate ever. I love the pink color. My dog will even go in here when everyone is home just to chew on her bones or take a nap. A size small perfectly fits a 20 lb Boston/Pug mix. If your dog is an escape artist, however, you might want a different crate because this latch is kind of easy for them to unhinge. My dog has escaped two times, but that was when her separation anxiety was a lot worse, which I think helped catalyze her escape.
