Why it's at #1? I chose to put Midwest Solution Series “Ginormus” Double Door Dog Crate as the first product on this list of best extra large dog crates because we found that it was actually the largest and easiest to clean. Also, the crates are stackable, which is something you don’t find with many crates today. All in all, this is a convenient, safe product for your dog.
The New Age Pet Habitat n Home InnPlace Dog Crate and Table resembles a Mission-style end table for your living room, but it also serves as a great place for your pet. It features brushed stainless steel spindles in the door and sides for added safety. This piece also features eco-friendly construction and has a door latch to keep secure. Easy, tool-free assembly is required. Simply choose from available size options.
It is a little flimsy but it isn’t being moved all over the house so it’s perfect for my girl. She out grew the one I borrowed so I had to buy a new one and it had to be bigger and cheap. The three doors don’t really make sense but whatever. The handle was broken in the box but I didn’t plan on using it and threw it away. It would be a five star if the crate wasn’t so flimsy. It did open and set up quickly.
Several owners complained that their dog was able to bend the wires and escape, so this isn’t a good choice for dogs who are escape artists, although it should serve fine for most pooches. Additionally, a few owners reported that while the crate can be collapsed, it’s not especially easy to do, so it isn’t a great choice for owners who plan to travel with the crate frequently.
Overview: This seventh best extra large dog crate has a single door and is made from five, seven, and nine-gauge mesh, making it very heavy-duty and durable. There are no tools required for assembly and its measurements are 49.5 inches long, 29 ½ inches wide, and 31 ¼ inches tall. There are three security locks on the door, eliminating the risk of easy escape. It is appropriate for pets weighing 85 pounds at most. The height of pets is recommended to be no taller than 30 inches.
Pros: Customers were pleased with the portability and collapsibility of this gate. The construction is sturdy (make sure you stay within the recommended weight limit). The double doors on this particular kennel are convenient if you have a need to have multiple exits for your dog. The carrying handles make it easy to move around and its housebreaking ability makes it a big seller amongst owners with puppies that will eventually grow into bigger dogs.
If you have a pooch that loves to escape their kennel, check out the Goplus Metal Wire Pet Crate. It is a good crate for those dogs that are keen to get away. It can be easily moved around the house although it is not collapsible, it is relatively lightweight. Indestructible dog crates are a great investment because you will not need to replace it.
Most Helpful review (read the full Amazon review): “This summary is not applicable for dogs that don’t experience separation anxiety I just adopted a 7 year old dog that suffers separation anxiety (if it weren’t for that he would be perfect!). The first cage (not this one) that I bought he figured out how to get out of within 20 minutes so I selected this one based on the 3 hinge locks. Here are my thoughts…“
Pros: The size is definitely a pro for owners who want their dogs to spend more time outside. It’s a very secure piece of equipment that is resistant to biting and the polyurethane is really durable. A customer described it as “very well made,” and even though it has a lot of parts—it is held together by sixteen connectors—on average, it took twenty minutes to put together.
Pooch owners will go to the ends of the earth to make sure their dogs are healthy and happy, and a sturdy, indestructible dog crate is the foundation of this. You do not want your dog escaping from their crate as they perhaps might escape from your home and never be seen again. They might go on a rampage in the home destroying furniture and valuables. Dogs might even injure themselves severely in the escape attempt. This article has shown you a range of different crates at different budgets.
Most models come with wheels – they are mandatory. Some models don’t, and we advise you to avoid them as moving them around is a real hassle, especially if you travel often. Crates with wheels will allow you to easily transport your pooch no matter the circumstances. For the less portable solution, you might as well go with an outdoor kennel or a good quality playpen.
