Wow, this crate is huge! We have three St Berdoodles and they were outgrowing the XL size crates I had purchased on Amazon (42”, I believe) at 10 months old. So, we purchased two of these ginormous crates. The pups have plenty of room. Only problem with the crates themselves is finding space in our home to put them. *the packaging and assembly nearly changed my review. The styrofoam broke apart everywhere, was all over the crate, floor, etc. quite challenging to put together, also. You need two people and a very large space to put it together in. And you need to put it together in the room it’s going in. We still haven’t put the 2nd one together because we aren’t sure where it will fit yet Wow, this crate is huge! AmazonBasics Double-Door Folding Crate – Yet again Amazon is there to offer a cheaper alternative to MidWest travel dog crates. Their AmazonBasics double door folding crate is exactly the same as the iCrate, and costs a few dollars less. Otherwise, the design has been copied from MidWest. It may or may not be worth it when consider that MidWest also offers great customer support and advice for their fan base.
What I’m trying to understand is how do I keep puppy safe/keep from potting at night if I don’t keep him in the crate at night? We brought our puppy home a week ago and he’s slept in the crate since the first night. Outside of the first night, he’s slept through (10p-6a). I stayed downstairs with him the first 3 or 4 nights and moved him further into the kitchen each night. I’ve moved back up to my bedroom the last 3 nights. He yelps 5-10 minutes and then goes to sleep. Occasionally I put him in the crate during the day (preparing meals, using the bathroom). Am I doing more harm than good because he wasn’t introduced more gradually?
I'm very happy with this crate's size. One thing I didn't notice was that it does require some assembly (not super hard, but it does take 2 people); I thought it was going to be like my 48" crate that folds. The quality is awesome, especially for the price. I'm very impressed with the Frisco line of products overall, the price is unbeatable. The shipping for Chewy is always great and ofcourse free for a purchase like this, I'm a happy camper.
Depending on your dog, you will want to pick a crate that best suits your needs. For a smaller dog, pick a soft-sided crate or a car seat that fit them better. For a larger, stronger dog, picking a hard sided or wire crate is a better choice. All of the crates listed in this article are some of the best of their types, and there should be a choice for any dog on the list. Always remember to add beds, pads, or calming aids when picking a crate, and measure your dog first before trying to get them sized for a crate. If you are still unsure, try to get a crate that you know your dog can stand up and turn around in, as previously stated, and make sure that it is not oversized for your dog, either. Hopefully, this article will give you all the insight you need on which dog crate will be the best for you and your dog.
We have 2 beagles that have always been crated together. As they have grown, we wanted to get them a larger kennel that would give them more space to relax while we were at work. I ordered this kennel after having read only the positive reviews; that turned out to be the biggest mistake ever. After only 2 weeks of use, we found 2 species of the metal bar inside of the crate after coming home from work. I immediately replaced this create with one purchased from a local pet store. My biggest concern was that my dogs could have been seriously injured by the metal pieces and I would have no idea. After all, the purpose of the crate is to protect them while we are away. I immediately contacted the seller requesting a return and they denied me, saying this was "damaged during use." I was appalled. This crate made for very large dogs; how could I not have the expectation that it would withstand my two medium sized dogs? After several emails with the seller including photos of the damage done, they offered me a 15% refund - $11.00 USD. I really hope anyone reading this review will learn from my mistake and take the negative reviews of this product seriously. It is a very poor quality product, which wouldn't be so bad if the seller stood behind it. Please, if you care about your pets at all, DO NOT purchase this product. Doing so would only potentially endanger your beloved pets.

We just received our beautiful custom kennel by Texas Custom Kennels! It really is such a beautiful piece of furniture that is usable, sturdy and classic. We enjoyed the great customer service, prompt email correspondence, ability to customize the size and also a very reasonable fabrication lead time. It was a very smooth process from when we first approached them with questions to when we received the furniture in person. Highly recommend them for their high quality and customer service!

If your pup begins whining at this stage, it could be a sign that you’ve moved too fast. Return to a length of time where he’s comfortable without whining and move forward from there. If he does whine, do not let your dog out unless he stops or he will begin to associate whining with being let out. This is not a habit you want to start or perpetuate.

I just got my crate in today, I pulled it out of the box and put it right back in to return for a refund. It is a peace of junk. I guess they ran out of tops because they used a side panel with a door for the top. The metal pan is bent I have never seen locks like this before. It's flimsy and cheap. I have 4 boxers and already have 3 crates set up, I got this one to move my 6month old to a bigger crate. I would not trust his life to this crate, I honestly am scared he would get hurt or kill his self in this crate. I'm only giving 1 star because I have to give something or I would give it 0 stars! I've asked to return and refund it better not be decided but if it is this crate will see my trash, I've already ordered a better one.
Does he go pee outside at all for you? If so, be sure to give him lots of praise when he does. Say, “good boy!” and pet him a lot. If there is a pattern to him going potty in his crate, try to change when you take him out or for how long. For example, does he always go in his crate right when you get inside? If so, stay outside a little longer. Does he go 20 minutes after you come inside? Try taking him out again after 20 minutes.

I have a friend, who doesn’t have such crate and thinks that is it’s soft and made from a textile it’ll be always dirty and wet. But I’m here just to say that if you’re thinking in such way, you’re absolutely wrong! Just look at the crates made from a waterproof material and which are comfortable for your pet to stay not only indoors but in a different transport too.

All of Petmate plastic travel dog crates, including this one, come in a variety of sizes to fit most dog breeds, although you'll be hard pressed to find one for a large breed (mostly, it's for small to medium dogs). The wire doors of these crates lock shut with a chrome squeeze door latch. The crates are shipped as two half shells and are very easy to assemble. They come with no-rust plastic wing nuts. These crates are also equipped with side air vents.

Sometimes we have to crate our pets: whether they need a closed off spot to snooze or need a dimly-lit space to settle down in, adding a crate cover like this is a great way to give your pet a safe and cozy. Crafted from fabric, this piece showcases a quatrefoil trellis pattern for a decorative pop in your pet's space. Designed to resist pet stains, dirt, and more, this piece is machine washable, so keeping it looking fresh is as easy as a quick cycle.
Another feature that I like is the fact that it has a top, side and front door for easy accessibility. The EliteField 3-Door soft dog crate is also equipped with two convenient accessory pockets. It has a strong steel tube frame and is very well ventilated just like most types of soft dog crates out there. EliteField travel dog crates come in several different sizes and will fit majority of dogs except for extra small or extra large breeds. You can also pick from a ton of different crate colors.
When it comes to picking the right dog carrier, there are three primary areas of consideration—safety, comfort and ease of use. While most will check all three boxes, it’s important to do your homework to ensure the pet carrier you pick provides the very best in all three categories. Keeping your dog safe while traveling is of utmost importance. When choosing a dog carrier, be sure it’s designed with a wide, sturdy base so it can’t tip as your dog moves and shifts her weight around. Make sure all doors and openings securely latch to keep your dog safely contained. And be sure the carrier you choose has plenty of ventilation. This is particularly important for nervous dogs who may anxiously pant while contained in her carrier.
A must-have for any dog owner, the crate can be used as a bed, to keep them safe during car trips, or even a training tool. This essential design is crafted from steel and features two doors that can be locked for safety as well as protective rubber feet that safeguard your floors from scuffs. A divider panel lets you allot space according to a growing puppy's needs, while a plastic pan provides an easy-to-clean surface in case of accidents.
Dogs are naturally den animals. In the wild, a dog’s den is their home, a safe space where he can sleep, retreat, and raise pups without fear of danger, without outside threat. For a domesticated dog, a crate fulfills this natural need for a safe haven. If introduced and used correctly, the crate will be where your dog willingly chooses to sleep, hide when it storms, and quite possibly, lay around in for no other reason other than it’s their very own space.
One of the few large soft-sided crates, this travel crate fits into the back of most SUVs or hatchbacks. It pops up and folds out quickly, and the durable outside makes it suitable for camping or rougher environments. The stronger material makes it good for rougher dogs or puppies who may be teething, and it has both a side and a top entrance for ease of use.
The perfect crate should be just large enough for a puppy to go inside, turn around, and lie down to sleep, but not so large that your dog can soil one side of the crate and sleep on the other side. Of course, puppies grow. So take into account your pup’s future adult size before investing in a pricey dog crate. Large crates are available with partitions for you to “shrink” to puppy size, and then enlarge the area as your puppy grows. You can also purchase an adult-size crate, and insert a barrier like a plastic storage box that shrinks the space to puppy proportions until your pet grows into its crate.
I recently adopted a 7 week old German Shepherd puppy and want to crate train him. I take him out every couple of hours to use the restroom and play with him. When I take him outside he’ll use the restroom and we praise him. However, as soon as we bring him in the house to play he eliminates randomly. They are little spots of pee. I suggested to my family that we only play with our pup outside so we don’t have these accidents. I’m afraid I’m confusing him, because if he’s not in the crate he’s outside. I don’t have experience crate training or house training.
As pets become more like family members, it has become more common to bring them with on trips rather than leaving them at home or boarding them. The quality of soft travel crates has improved steadily in recent years. As a result, the market has been inundated with a vast array of crates from basic models to those that have tons of exciting features.
